Looking after your pride and joy, whether it be a classic car, motorcycle, boat, tractor or other vehicle, is a labour of love. You know the amount of work you have put into it and the value it has on the open market.

We usually have a collection of equipment, parts and accessories that accompany our ride, and often we cannot get into the shed because of this collection we have acquired in the pursuit of our hobby, passion and love.

But, not everyone sees our collection in the same way.

Over many years of administering the estates of deceased collectors we have witnessed such collections being unwisely disposed of.

Vehicles are sold for much less than market value, even given away!
Bikes, cars, parts and spares end up on the scrap heap!
Traders siezing the opportunity to relieve the grieving widow or widower of the vehicle or collection for relatively little money – or even charging them to remove the collection or clear the shed or garage!
Items sit rotting in the garden, shed or garage because family did not know their true worth!

THE SOLUTION

Complete Wills have devised a specialist Collectors Will to protect your collection from the issues highlighted above.

In addition to the clauses in your usual Will, The Collectors Will contains the following;

A COLLECTORS CLAUSE

This clause will gift your vehicle, collection of spares, tools and equipment to whom you desire. You can divide your collection into as many shares as you would like and gift individual vehicles to different beneficiaries as you wish. This clause will highlight the importance of your collection so it is not dismissed by your Executors or family.

A PROTECTOR

The nominated Protector is usually a family member, friend or organization who know and understand your vehicle and collection. They will understand the monetary value of such items and be able to advise and assist your Executor on the correct disposal of these vehicles and items.

Disposal may be organizing the gift of the items in accordance with your Will or arranging to sell the items for the true market value.

The Protector is someone you trust to ensure that your pride and joy doesn’t end up on the scrap heap, sold for less than market value or left rotting in the back garden.

A SAFEGUARD

Complete Wills will write to your Executor and Protector to ensure they are aware of the location of your Will and the importance of your collection. If your Will is held by Complete Wills we shall, upon your death, ensure that your Executors and family are immediately reminded of the clauses in your Will and provide free advice about how to secure, and ultimately dispose of, your collection in association with your Protector.

In addition to the usual clauses within a traditional Will we will create clauses to ensure you have:

A COLLECTORS CLAUSE to bequeath your vehicle and collection to a specific person(s) or organization.
A PROTECTOR nominated in your Will to advise your family and Executors on the value of your collection and disposal of such.
A SAFEGUARD to ensure that immediately after your death your Executor knows not to dispose of your collection prior to administering your estate.
